# Paying for hosting in crypto: verifying the network and the amount

[Corresponding web page](https://wisphost.com/blog/crypto-hosting-payment-networks/)

A cryptocurrency name alone is not enough to define a payment. The same token can circulate on several networks, with different addresses and transfer rules. The order summary must remain your reference point.

Topic: Crypto payments.

## The short answer

Before sending, match the asset, network, address and exact order amount with those of your wallet. A sent transaction does not yet mean the payment is confirmed: keep its reference and check the tracking.

- USDT on Tron and USDT on Ethereum are two distinct network choices.
- The amount to be received and the wallet fees must be verified separately.
- Keep the order reference and the transaction ID for tracking.

## Why should you verify the asset and the network?

The asset refers to what you send, for example BTC, ETH or USDT. The network refers to the blockchain that carries the transaction. USDT exists in particular on Ethereum and Tron. The fact that a service accepts this token on one network does not mean it accepts it on all the others.

An address that appears recognized by your wallet does not prove that the chosen network is the one expected by the recipient. For a token, use exactly the network offered in the payment, without assuming that another chain or a token representing the same asset will be accepted.

## What choices does the WispHost checkout offer?

The checkout offers seven asset and network pairs. This list describes the methods configured for your orders; it does not include every technical possibility offered by each cryptocurrency.

| Asset | Network to select |
| --- | --- |
| BTC | Bitcoin |
| ETH | Ethereum |
| USDT | Tron · TRC-20 |
| USDT | Ethereum · ERC-20 |
| USDC | Ethereum · ERC-20 |
| SOL | Solana |
| LTC | Litecoin |

## What amount should you send?

Use the crypto amount shown on your order's payment page. WispHost calculates this amount from the dollar total and fixes it with the address and network when the payment request is created. A later change to your configuration does not modify an order that has already been issued.

Do not replace this number with an approximate conversion found elsewhere. Use the copied amount, then verify the decimals in your wallet. The WispHost QR code contains the receiving address: the amount and network still need to be verified on the settlement screen.

## How should transfer fees be handled?

Network fees are separate from the amount requested by the order. On Ethereum, they are paid in ETH, including for a transfer of ERC-20 tokens. A personal wallet must therefore have the necessary means to pay these fees, depending on how it works.

A withdrawal platform may apply its own fee or deduct fees from the amount sent. Check its summary before confirming and verify the amount intended for the recipient. The price advertised for hosting does not describe the fees of your wallet or your platform.

## The four checks before confirmation

Compare the information on the final screen, after pasting the address. Avoid manually entering a long address and do not reuse the instructions from another order. The network selection must remain identical on both sides.

- The asset matches exactly the one in the payment.
- The withdrawal network matches the network displayed.
- The full address is the one from the order.
- The expected amount and the fees have been checked.

## What to do after sending?

Keep the transaction ID, often called hash or TXID, along with your order reference. Tracking distinguishes between awaiting payment, confirmations and the rest of the order. The wallet broadcasting the transaction does not, on its own, constitute a confirmation on the service side.

The payment page provides a 25 minute time limit and a status refresh. If this time limit reaches zero while you have sent the funds, do not automatically conclude that it failed and do not send a second time. Open a support request with the relevant references so the payment can be reviewed.
